Trust plays a HUGE role in what it means to surrender into your calling, your artistry and your gifts/talents as an actor or creative. It is extremely important to build Trust within yourself so you can sustain challenges when they arise but more importantly, so you can Love yourself; the kind of self love that will do for you whatever it takes to ensure that you are happy and fulfilled.
What Is It To Trust Yourself?
Dictionary Version of Trust: A firm belief in the reliability, truth, ability or strength of someone or something.
Trina’s Version of Trust: A firm belief in the reliability, truth, ability and strength of ourselves.
Your innate confidence comes from this place. When you know that you are reliable, honest, able and strong (mentally, emotionally, spiritually, physically), everyone around you can FEEL it. That’s the magnetism that casting directors, writers, and producers are looking for and often the very thing that gets you hired. They can sense it, even through the characters you play. If you Trust yourself, they will too.
The term chakra is Sanskrit for “wheel.” Chakras are often depicted as spinning, colored wheels of energy. Ancient Indian traditions have taught us that chakras are centers of spiritual power within the human body. Below is an example of where the chakras live and what each one represents! They have a specific function and each one vibrates at it’s own color frequency. If you look at them from Root to Crown, you can see that the chakras mimic the color of the rainbow. Color is very significant when it comes to energy, vibration and sound. It gives us a visual marker and deep understanding of its essence and feeling tone.
When we aren’t aware of our chakra system and how powerful it is, we can become very agitated, unbalanced, sick, tired, depressed, etc. On the contrary, when we spend time with our chakras through Breath and meditation, we can align with our higher selves, harmonizing our mental, emotional, spiritual, physical and financial bodies. It is extremely important that we nurture our chakra system so we can connect with ourselves on the deepest levels possible. If your chakras are out of balance, everything is off! Your chakras are meant to work in tandem with one another to support you and your Life Force, hence why breathing into them is SO important.
Breath… Your Life Force
I’ve spoken in previous articles about Breath being our Life Force. When you consciously breathe, you connect to the Truth of who you are on a Soul level. Taking deep conscious Breaths will bring you back to yourself time and time again. It’s the perfect way to recalibrate, ground your energy and access your vitality from within, your Life Force.
Trust Yourself And Breathe Into Your Chakras
I’ve practiced chakra Breathing for years and would love to share an exercise with you. Sitting on the floor with your legs crossed or in a chair with both feet on the ground, close your eyes, straighten your back and begin to take slow, deep breaths (eight seconds in and eight seconds out). As you relax into your Breathing, begin visualizing the chakra system within YOUR body. With your eyes still closed, begin to touch the chakra points on your body and Breathe into them. You can do this with an open hand or two fingers. Apply light pressure so you can actually feel them as you explore this magnificent part of yourself. What do they look like? How do they feel? What colors do you see? What thoughts are coming to mind? Can you smell or hear anything? What images, words, phrases, feelings, symbols, smells and/or sounds are flooding forward into your consciousness? Write everything down (even if it doesn’t make sense to you). Over time a pattern will begin to reveal itself. I recommend doing this exercise multiple times and journaling your findings. Each session will be different. Trust the process. There is no right or wrong way to do this. Be yourself and enjoy the journey of discovering you.
Connect With Your Root Chakra
Once you’ve done the exercise a few times, I’d like to add one more layer. Meditate and breathe into your Root Chakra only. Visualize the color red. Put your hands on your Root Chakra and like before, allow anything and everything to come forward. Your Root Chakra has primal and ancient information that it would like to share with you. Write it down. Be with it. Allow the truth of WHO you are to reveal itself. You will come face to face with your duality. Embrace it!
There’s so much beauty there. Tune in and ask yourself the hard questions and Trust that you have the strength to listen to your answers. This is not easy work, so I applaud you for being willing.
Your Root Chakra is where Self Trust lives. Spend time with it everyday and watch your life transform before your own eyes. There is no right or wrong way to do this. Be yourself and enjoy your journey of self -discovery.

Trina is co-founder and original instigator of Blumvox Studios. With a passion for vibration and sound, she discovered early on that she loved listening to people’s voices when they spoke or sang (and still does to this day). Having traveled with Steve to meet his fans and comrades, Trina witnessed something she never had before – his voice seemed to heal those that heard him. It was deeply profound for her and inspired a twenty plus year conversation to begin a school where Steve could teach others to do the same.
With over two decades of study in personal development and metaphysics, Trina sees the voice as a Healing Art that can be felt and experienced by all. She is honored to be part of a movement that supports those that are not only ready to step into their voices, but into their authentic truth as well.
